The Lottery “Curse”

Willie Seeley was one of the 16 Oceans Country garage workers in New Jersey, dubbed the Ocean’s 16, who won $450 million in the US Lotto.  Seeley was initially extremely happy with the windfall but now feels a sense of regret with his wife Donna referring to the win as “the curse.”

Seeley has found it difficult to adjust to the “nonstop drama” that followed his media appearances.  He explains, “You have to change your whole way of life, but we didn’t want to change the way we lived.”  Seeley has shared some of his winnings with family and helped to fund cancer treatments for his father.  He has also purchased his dream home, a cabin on 15 acres of land where he hopes to shut out those who have become interested in him.
