One Billion New Genealogical Records Digitized

FamilytreeSince LDS Church's Granite Mountain Records Vault in Utah has been completed, the safe has protected billions of genealogical records in its climate-controlled environment. Now, a $60 million dollar deal between FamilySearch International and Ancestry.com will sift through 1 billion records and make them public. The two providers of genealogical research are looking at other opportunities to collaborate and share records. People interested in family history should have more access to more information. The LDS Church is continuing its research in collecting more genealogical information worldwide.
