Controversial Sperm Donor Case Set for October

As I have previously discussed, William Marotta is being sued by the Kansas Department for Children and Families for child support.  Marotta donated his sperm to Angela Bauer and Jennifer Schreiner for $50 after responding to a Craigslist ad.  The signed agreement stated he was to have no part in the child’s life.

The state argues Marotta is the father because the couple did not use a licensed physician for the artificial insemination.

Oral arguments have been set for October 25 in Topeka.
