Attorney Ken Hoesch has received over six years in prison and has been ordered to pay $1 million in restitution after being caught taking over $800,000 from multiple victims.
In a particularly despicable act of betrayal, Hoesch embezzled the estate of a man diagnosed with leukemia. Hoesch was made the administrator of Vernon’s estate after Vernon learned he would soon die. Because his family had always used him, Vernon trusted Hoesch, but Hoesch apparently withdrew all of the money from Vernon’s trust in $30,000 increments just two weeks after Vernon’s death.
Hoesch is believed to have used the money he stole for expensive trips and an art collection.
