This week in the UK gay marriage will likely become law. The law is scheduled to be in effect next summer. After the bill passed through the House of Lords, the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat leaderships all supported the bill. However, the bill will endue some minor changes. One of the changes is the addition of protections for transgender couples to stay married after a sex change. Additionally, there will be an assessment on whether different belief organizations will be permitted to perform marriages.
