NFA Gun Trusts

The National Firearms Act requires a sheriff or police chief to approve the transfer of certain guns and weapons.  NFA gun trusts are a way to legally bypass this requirement, along with the requirement for fingerprints.  Without proper planning, the signature requirement can become a roadblock to the transfer of NFA weapons because many law enforcement chiefs just decide to deny all transfers, including legal ones.

Trusts are exempt from the law because the are non-humans, so estate planning attorneys have created the concept of an NFA gun trust, which provides gun owners additional protection that is not available in typical revocable living trusts.  

As the possibility for stricter gun laws increases, Charlotte area gun collectors are in need of specialized legal counsel to help them create dedicated trust to preserve and protect their ownership of machine guns, some assault rifles, and other similar firearms.
