Jackson's Children and His Mother Sue AEG Live

Michael JacksonThe late-singer's children and his mother, Katherine Jackson, have brought a suit against AEG Live. The complaint alleges that AEG Live should be held liable because they were negligent in hiring and supervising Dr. Conrad Murray. The children have claimed that they each "want $10 billion for all of the future earnings they claim MJ would have scored had he lived." They also want an additional $50 million in additional damages.

AEG has responded to the suit by claiming that the amount that children are seeking is absolutely preposterous. The company claims that Jackson was not worth nearly that much at his death for a number of reasons. It cited the fact that Jackson's career was in a downward spiral because of the backlash from the child molestation charges and the singer's own exile to the Middle East. According to TMZ, "[t]hey claim that the damage claim is based on rank speculation."
