IRS Re-opens PTIN Site

IRS 2The IRS has finally re-opened it's PTIN management and registration site after a court ruling challenged the IRS's authority "to force tax preparers to register as RTRPs." This decision comes after a review by the IRS of a court's decision in Loving v. Commissioner. Recently the IRS has concluded that Loving would not affect any requirements that paid tax preparers must have a PTIN. In addition to the system re-opening, the system featured a warning to its users that it would be updated soon to reflect changes in requirements under the law.
