MLK's Heirs Await Court of Appeals Ruling in Case Against Former Secretary
I previously blogged about how a federal judge dismissed the case that Martin Luther King's heirs brought against King's former secretary's family. King's heirs did not drop the case however, and they are now awaiting a ruling from a U.S. appeals court in New Orleans.
Historian, David Garrow, thinks that this case against Ms. Ballou is "heartless." She worked for Dr. King and was totally loyal to him. Other critics say that this lawsuit conflicts with the values that King represented. He never tried to receive financial benefit from the civil rights movement.
