A 71-year old son went to court to get an eviction notice and served his mother, Mary Kantorowski, with it just before her 98th birthday in December. Mary transferred the ownership of the house to her son Peter, but reserved the right to live there several years ago. Peter, the son trying to evict her, says that he thinks it is better for her to be in nursing care with other people her age where she will be taken care of and fed on time. Mary does not want to go to a nursing home and says that the house is “'everything'” to her as her late husband wished that she would stay there until her passing. Mary’s younger son, Jack, says that his mother is in pretty good health and he doesn’t understand why Peter didn’t speak up about financial problems earlier instead of kicking their mother out of her home.
