Slain Couple Leaves Behind Twelve Special Needs Children & No Valid Will

BillingsThe murders of Byrd and Melanie Billings, a wealthy Florida couple, has left everyone wondering who will take care of their 12 adopted, special needs children.   Byrd did not execute a will, and a Florida court recently determined that Melanie's will is invalid because it was not signed in front of two witnesses.

For more information, see Hubert Tate, Melanie Billings' will "not valid", FoxTen, Aug. 31, 2009.

Special thanks to Mike Kent (Stetson University College of Law) for bringing this case to my attention.
