Romance After Death

Jack_benny Jack Benny, hollywood comedian, died of pancreatic cancer in 1974.  Benny left money for a local florist to deliver one long stem rose to his wife of 47 years every day after his death. Benny's wife lived for nine years after Benny died.

Jack Benny died in 1974, not '47.

It's been OVER a year since our mother died (unexpected heart attack). She left $100,000 (reportedly) in her cash account. Her final will (reportedly) said to divide the estate evenly among we 6 children.

One brother, who lived closest to mother, has supposedly been attempting to settle and distribute the estate. He is taking his good old time, however. In fact, to the best we others can tell, he has done NOTHING yet, aside from assumably paying any outstanding bills owed by our mother. We are completely in the dark about what has become of the remaining cash, or any other assets. The probate court has no record of any will submitted for mother, nor any contact from that brother of ours.

The 5 other siblings (me included) are becoming quite frustrated and impatient. We have written e-mails to brother several times asking for a status report --- no response is ever received.

What specific steps can we other siblings take to expedite the estate distribution?

Thank you,
Nicholas
