Wife sues husband, a lottery winner, for behaving badly
Donna Campbell, wife of lottery winner Arnim Ramdass, is suing him for misbehavior after he and his co-workers at the Miami International Airport won a $19 million jackpot. The fight is over Arnim's share of the winnings, $600,000 before taxes.
Campbell claims her husband fraudulently conspired to conceal his lottery winnings from her. She contends that she entitled to 50% because the ticket was purchased with marital assets. However, Florida is not a community property state and thus Arnim claims he is entitled to the winnings because it was purchased with his money (Campbell is unemployed).

But it's still marital property, right?
I don't know what type of state florida is, but I thought there were only two types--community, which would make everything each party owns the property of the community, and then marital property, which makes all property acquired during the marriage jointly held. In order to show it's not marital, he would have to show that the dollar (or whatever the ticket cost) came from a gift or an inheritance or a stash of money he had before he got married.
