Microsoft Jumps into the Movie Download Business

In this situation, the downloads would be to the Xbox 360 which has a 20 Gigabyte hard drive and a broadband connection.  Content is limited at this point but will be expanded over time.  Downloads will be available in standard and in high definition formats.  The game plan is for movies to be available for two weeks and then only for 24 hours once viewing has commenced.  There are no burning capabilities or ownership options with the service, which should thrill Hollywood studios to no end.

More information is in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
