Not Coming to a Windows Operating System Soon (or at all): WinFS
The highly touted file system that was supposed to be a breakthrough in organizing data on a hard drive has been quietly withdrawn from general Windows use as a future product. Microsoft is folding features into SQL Server and other products. Bill Gates has called the development of WinFS the "holy grail" of OS features.
