Creative Technology Claims MP3 Interface Patent

Creative Technology, maker of the Zen and Nomad MP3 players, announced today that it was issued U.S. Patent # 6,928,433, covering elements of the MP3 player interface found not only in Creative's own products but, according to Creative, Apple's popular iPods as well.  Creative's release may be found here.

GAO Report Criticizes Gov't on Privacy

Internetnews.com is reporting that the U.S. Government Accountability Office has issued a report criticizing the U.S. Government's agencies on their privacy compliance.  The full report, entitled DATA MINING: Agencies Have Taken Key Steps to Protect Privacy in Selected Efforts, but Significant Compliance Issues Remain, may be found here (as a PDF).
