EU to Seek Help on Software Patent Directive

According to this story on ZDNET, the European Parliament is seeking the help of legal experts to amend the directive on software patents.  The reported goal is to make sure software-only inventions cannot by themselves be given patent protection.  The meeting is to be held by the EP's legal affairs committee on Monday.
