SEC Proceeding Against Gupta is Postponed

The SEC's administrative proceeding against former McKinsey  executive Rajat Gupta, scheduled to begin on July 18, has been postponed without explanation for six months.  The SEC charges Gupta with tipping confidential inside information about Goldman Sachs and Procter & Gamble to Raj Rajaratnam when Gupta was on the boards of those companies.  The DOJ has not indicted Gupta on criminal charges.  Behind-the-scenes dickering between the DOJ and the SEC may be the reason.  NYTimes, S.E.C.
