SEC Sends Subpoenas to Hedge Fund Advisers
On Sunday the SEC announced that it was examining internal controls at securities firms against manipulation of stock prices through spreading false rumors. Today the Wall St. Journal reports that the SEC has sent subpoenas to a number of hedge fund advisers seeking information about short sales and options trading in the stock of Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers.
