Yahoo Looks For Alternatives to Microsoft
Negotiations between Yahoo and Time Warner about a combination of Yahoo and AOL continue as Yahoo looks for alternatives to a Microsoft deal. Yahoo also is engaged in talks with News Corp., in which News Corp. would buy a stake in Yahoo in exchange for MySpace. Meanwhile, Microsoft faces a March 14 deadline to file a slate of Yahoo directors if it plans a proxy contest, although Yahoo could extend that deadline or delay its not-yet-scheduled annual meeting.
