Bancroft Family Meets to Consider Murdoch's Offer for Dow Jones

Members of the Bancroft family will hold a meeting today in Boston to discuss the News Corp's offer to buy Dow Jones.  They are expected to take several days to think over the deal; Rupert Murdoch has said he expects the family to decide promptly.  At $60 per share, their entire shareholdings are worth more than $1.2 billion, compared to less than $750 million before the bid.  If the public shareholders overwhelmingly approve the deal, it may be that less than one-third of the Bancroft family votes are needed to approve the deal.
