Interesting Book: Fighting Poverty in the US and Europe: A World of Difference

Fightingpoverty There is an interesting book that might be worth checking out (it has been out for a little while but I hadn't seen it until I got a random Amazon.com ad today): Alberto Alesina & Edward L. Glaeser, Fighting Poverty in the U.S. and Europe: A World of Difference (2006).  A lengthy World Bank slide show tied to the book is available here.  A book review by Aaron Steelman that gives a nice two-page summary of the book is available here; another different one-page review by Miles Corak is here.
