Kentucky Church Says "No" to Interracial Couples

The Associated Press is reporting that a small, all-white church in rural Kentucky on Sunday voted to ban interracial couples from joining the congregation.  According to the report, the church approved a resolution that says it does not "condone interracial marriage." The church's former pastor denies that the resolution was racially motivated.  However, the church's secretary disagrees.  He maintains that the resolution came about after his daughter visited the church this summer with her boyfriend from Africa.

I'm wondering whether, in light of Bob Jones University v. United States, 461 U.S. 574, this church should lose its tax-exempt status.

I don't know the "ins and outs: of this particular church but it's clear to the outside word that they're yet another example of a white, middle-class-run church in America, trying to preserve their selfish way of life. It's all-too-common, and should not only be ignored, but over-stamped. They are racist, bigoted, out-of-touch fuddy-duddies who need a wake-up call.

And by the way, I'm British and white!
