More Volunteers Help Budget-Challenged Nonprofits
The Detroit Free Press reports that many nonprofits have seen an increase in the number of volunteers, with people who have lost jobs being willing to work for free. Given the decrease in the budgets and fundraising of many nonprofits, the increase in volunteers may help fill the gap. In a time when many news stories describe cuts in budgets and services, it's good to see something positive coming out of the recession. For the full story, go here.
