Followup - NY State vs. Tribes over cigarette taxes continues...and continues...
The latest from NY State in their ongoing legal fight with the Seneca: "A state tax department policy of not enforcing tax collections on Indian cigarette sales was officially rescinded Tuesday by the Paterson administration. But it will still take approval of a new set of regulations before the tax-free sales are halted."

In example the case of taxing cigarettes prior to delivery.
As a non professional reader of the US Constitution I read Section 9 and it prohibits States from laying impost or duties on imports or exports. The net produce of all state duties shall be for the use of the Treasury of the United States
Additionally, I bought a wedding gift in Oregon and had it shipped to NJ. I was charged a NJ sales Tax. Sounds similar. Thanks for any input. I would like to send NJ a bill!

if they want to increase and keep increasing the cigarettes tax,so why they dont pay for our rehab??? thay have to give that option too,no??
