Pew Research Survey: Many More Democrats Than Republicans Believe News Media Keeps Politicians "In Line"
The Pew Research Center has released some new information about Americans' attitudes toward the news media. Specifically, Pew notes that Democrats are more likely to believe that the media tends to act as a check on politicians (nearly 90 percent of Democrats believe that), but Republicans are less likely to believe it (just over forty percent of Republicans do). Thus, there's nearly a fifty percent gap in the way registered members of the two major parties currently view the the traditional role of the media. More here.
