The outgoing governor of the Bank of England says we might well see writer Jane Austen on the British ten-pound note sometime soon. Sir Mervyn King told a Parliamentary committee that the famous writer might be the the fourth woman to appear on UK banknotes (after the Queen and reformers Elizabeth Fry and Florence Nightingale). Former Prime Minister Winston Churchill will displace Fry in 2015. More here from the Guardian.
