French Watchdog Agency Fines Google Over Street View Program

French agency CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libert├ęs) has fined Google 100,000 Euros for breaching security and privacy laws via its Street View program. The ruling was based on among other sources the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Individuals With Regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data. The company says it will delete the data. Text of the decision here (in French).
