Judge Hands Down Decision on Internet Royalties Rate
U. S. District Judge William O'Connor has devised a method for determining royalties owed by Yahoo, AOL, and RealNetworks to members of ASCAP. The parties have been waiting for such a formula for years, and the bills have been piling up. The fee Judge O'Connor came up with amounts to 2.5 percent of adjusted music-use revenue and will result in millions for ASCAP and its members. Here's a link to the ruling.
