FCC Says It Won't Inquire Into Turnover of Records
Replying to a request by Representative Edward Markey of Massachusetts, FCC head Kevin Martin said that the agency does not have the authority to investigate whether Verizon, AT&T and BellSouth may have violated the law by turning over customer phone records to the National Security Agency.
