Former Miami Herald writer Jim DeFede apparently will not face any charges associated with his taping of phone conversations with Arthur Teele, Jr. last July. Teele killed himself in the lobby of the Miami Herald building shortly after he spoke with DeFede. The paper fired the columnist after it found out that he taped the conversations without Teele's permission, and it has refused to reinstate him.
