New York Governor Issues Executive Order to Recognize Out-of-State Same Sex Marriages
New York governor David Paterson issued an executive order "requiring government agencies to recognize same-sex marriages performed outside the state." See NY Times Article here.
Paterson's order was challenged in court, but a trial court judge in the Bronx permitted the order to stand.
In fact, the executive order is in line with NY State law due to a recent decision by the New York Court of Appeals in the February Martinez decision.
