Mlawrence In the days before there even was an academic field of legal writing, Mary Lawrence was a pioneer in the professional teaching of legal writing.  Now Professor Emerita at the University of Oregon, she has been selected to receive that university's Meritorious Service Award.  She will be recognized at graduation this year for her "extraordinary contributions" to legal education.  For the full story, click here.

One of the founders of our field, and a woman who has done far more than most to advance legal education. She well deserves the recognition that she has received and that she is receiving.
