2009 Legal Writing Scholarship Grants

The Association of Legal Writing Directors (ALWD) and the Legal Writing Institute (LWI) announced the 2009 Legal Writing Scholarship Grants for teachers of legal research and writing. Applications are due February 3, 2009. These grants reflect the two organizations’ commitment to the professional development of legal research and writing professionals. Past grants have varied from $2000 to $5000. Royalties from the ALWD Citation Manual are the primary source of ALWD funding each year.

In 2008, LWI and ALWD cooperatively evaluated and chose five applications to fund for a total of $17,500 in grants. To get a copy of the grant application for 2009, contact Professor Robin Wellford Slocum.  If you would like some help with filling it out , contact Professor Sarah Ricks at Rutgers School of Law – Camden

Hat tip to Sarah Ricks (Rutgers-Camden) and Robin Wellford Slocum (Chapman), Co-Chairs of the Joint ALWD-LWI Scholarship Committee
