visiting position in Arkansas
The University of Arkansas School of Law (Fayetteville) is seeking teachers interested in joining its Legal Research and Writing program as a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor for the 2006-07 academic year.
The Legal Research and Writing program covers three semesters, carries seven graded credits, and is taught by five full-time faculty members. LRW I focuses on analysis and objective writing; LRW II on appellate brief writing and oral advocacy, including a moot court component. LRW III is a required second year course which includes drafting of client letters, pleadings, a non-litigation document and a trial level memorandum. Appointment is for a nine month term (August - May). Applicants should have a strong academic record, law practice experience, and a demonstrated interest in teaching legal research and writing. Prior legal writing teaching experience is strongly preferred. 2. The professor hired will not be permitted to vote in faculty meetings.
3. The school anticipates paying an annual academic year base salary in the range $50,000 to $59,999.
4. The number of students enrolled in each semester of the courses taught by the legal research & writing professor will be 41 - 45.
