the roller coaster

Teaching legal writing is like riding a roller coaster.  You get all ready to go at the beginning of the semester.  The timing and content of every assignment are planned before the semester starts.  Every possible problem has been anticipated and pre-empted as much as possible; your seatbelt is fastened tightly.  Once the semester actually starts, there's no stopping it.  There are ups and downs for weeks and weeks, unstoppable as the roller coaster car.  And then, suddenly, a break in the academic calendar is upon you, and the crazy ride ends.  Spring break starts tomorrow.
