An attorney who is also a licensed medical doctor was suspended for one year on consent in an agreement approved by the Arizona Presiding Disciplinary Judge.
The attorney was convicted for leaving the scene after fatally striking a woman.
According to witnesses at the scene, [the victim] took all of her clothes off and laid down in the middle of the street immediately prior to the accident.
The attorney left the scene and later returned but stayed in her car. She was pulled over after she again left the scene and had a .129 blood alcohol content.
The attorney participated successfully in a monitoring program for physicians.
She also self-reported to the resulting felony conviction to the Bar.
The suspension was imposed nunc pro tunc to October 2013. The length of suspension requires a showing of fitness. If reinstated, she would be subject to a year of probation with participation in the Bar's alcohol recovery program
