Reinstated With Conditions

The Kansas Supreme Court has reinstated two suspended attorney, with conditions imposed in each matter.

One of the cases is notable because the reinstated attorney is still on federal criminal probation. some courts will not consider applicants for bar admission who have continuing obligations to the criminal justice system.

There are also obligations imposed with respect to monitoring for possible substance abuse.

The other case is notable in the the reinstatement is strictly limited to the representation of criminal defendants.

The order also adopted conditions that include the close supervision of the attorney's practice by another who will serve as monitor. (Mike Frisch)
