The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board has recommended the permanent disbarment of a former district judge of Caddo Parish, who was convicted of bribery. The judge left his elective office in the wake of the conviction.
The scheme involved a bail bondsman and charged that public bribery "occured during various occasions involving his service as a district judge, including the exchange for cash and other things of value to make [the judge] available to quickly set bonds, reduce bonds, recall arrest warrants and remove probation holds for individuals who had business in court."
