CNN AC360 Asked For A Caption, So...

Posted by Alan Childress092308kissingerpalin

CNN's Anderson Cooper has a feature asking readers to post a caption for a photo.  Today's was this pic of Palin and Kissinger outside the UN.   The reader's caption that they mentioned on-air was funny enough, and accessible to any generation.  Sorry I forgot what it was.   But if you are older than 50 (as I suspect that Mike, Jeff, and Patrick O'Donnell are), and whichever ticket you support, I bet the only caption that pops into your head is along the lines of this:  "Henry, Henry, get down on your knees and pray with me."  Anderson is just too young to have thought of that, I am sure.  I can even hear Ackroyd's voice.

Hear! Hear!

Had she even read it, or had her local library stocked it, I'm sure Palin would have attempted to ban (see http://www.libraryjournal.com/article/CA6597542.html?q=sarah+palin+and+libraries) Christopher Hitchens' important book, The Trial of Henry Kissinger (London: Verso, 2001; in this instance at least, Hitchens got it right).

Thanks: now both you and my doctor have recently reminded me of my age (b. 1956). But at least I find myself in distinguished company. (And I'm neither as grey as Anderson nor as bald as Jeff...nor as clever as Mike for that matter).

Where is Kissinger's left hand? Perhaps Henry is giving the Governor her first lesson in back channel diplomacy while she maintains a somewhat strained diplomatic front.

Wick, in the lower 48 that is called goosing, but in states next to Russia it is called moosing.

Alan, very interesting. Given the Governor's track record with moose (Imus claims she killed Bullwinkle), Kissinger took a gamble doing anything that might have triggered Governor Palin's moose reflex.
