Critics of the DOJ McMemo Say It Changes Little
Story here today on Law.com as to the McNulty Memo and whether it realistically alters the prior
Thompson Memo. Quoted critics say that it just drives the prosecutorial tactics or demands underground, sort of "don't ask, don't tell." I argued on LPB here, last month, that the new DOJ policy was tweaking, semantics, and mainly a publicity stunt -- as long as the carrot-stick ratio remains the same. Ultimately so far I would say that it is really just the McNulty Pocket Part. [Alan Childress]
