For Book Publishers, the eBook Nirvana May Finally Arrive in 2011
"For book publishers, it may seem like digital nirvana is finally about to arrive—and the uptick in e-books sold will be considerable," because one of the eight predictions in paidContent's Our Bets for Digital Media in 2011 feature is that the eReader will reach critical mass writes Staci D. Kramer. Kramer adds:
But critical mass also means 2011 is the year that grumbling about the price of e-books will get much louder, as will the demand to be able to move purchased books across platforms and devices. With hundreds of thousands of titles to sell, digital libraries becoming easier to use, and millions of free public domain titles, it could be the year publishers learn a few lessons about e-pricing.
