New Law Vendor CEO in Town: Tom Glocer, Andy Prozes and Paul Wojcik Meet Stacey Caywood, Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory
Stacey Caywood was promoted to CEO of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory, effective yesterday. Not too shabby for someone who has only been with the Company for 18 years. Past gigs include President and CEO of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business and Vice President of the Wolters Kluwer Law & Business Legal Professional Group. She also served as Publisher of CCH’s Business and Finance group, and as Director of Sales and Marketing. According to her bio, Caywood joined CCH in 1992 as a product manager and orchestrated the launch of the Company’s first CD-ROM products. Well, don't hold that against her.
Wait a minute, I think I joined CCH in 1992! Does that mean I could have ended up as CEO of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory? Ah, more likely after 18 years, the highest position I might have reached would have been Caywood's second or third executive assistant. More likely third. You know the one sent to tap someone on the shoulder to say "the boss would like to talk with you, don't worry too much." Well, congratulations Stacey. No doubt, the promotion is well deserved.
Yes I know Tom Glocer is CEO of TRI, not TR Legal but, like the Company's account reconcilation reports, it takes too many colored pencils to map out the Company's sixth floor suite of offices in Eagan. After 18 years at West, I wonder how many demotions I would have had. Most likely, I would have been transfered to Munchkin Country as third assistant liaison to the Emerald City. [JH]
