Thomson Reuters Pinches Pennies in Sponsoring AALL and CALL/ACBD Annual Meetings This Year

After a two-year ban from sponsoring AALL's Annual Meeting, Thomson Reuter returns this year but not as a top-ranked "Gold Sponsor." Apparently TR couldn't scrap up $75,000.01 for that status. Instead the Company is a "Bronze Sponsor" along with Innovative Interfaces.

Bah! Humbug! The Company was just as "thrifty" in sending sponsorship dollars to The Canadian Association of Law Libraries/L'Association canadienne des bibliothèques de droit (CALL/ACBD) for its upcoming annual meeting, "Diamond Sponsor" instead of "Platinum Sponsor."

Granted, I may be jumping to conclusions here. Perhaps our convention goodies bags attendees pick up at the registration desks will contain TR Legal-branded iPads.

BTW, can anyone tell me when the "West Party" is this year? [JH]

Hello!

As Chair of the 2010 CALL / MichALL Conference Planning Committee - I can clarify that Carswell, a Thomson Reuters business, was a Diamond Sponsor with us last year as well.

For our part, we are grateful for their continuing support!

Cheers
