Responses to AALL Annual Meeting Review Special Committee's Follow-up Survey Due by March 17

AALL Annual Meeting Review Special Committee is seeking comments on the the below listed topics as a follow-up to the Committee's survey earlier this year. Comments on any or all of the topics  are due by Wednesday, March 17.

Program Planning: The Annual Meeting Program Committee currently selects the majority of programming for the Annual Meeting based on proposals submitted by individual members, SISs, chapters, caucuses and committees. The #1-ranked proposal from each SIS is guaranteed a program slot. SISs also have the option of scheduling additional programs at the same time as AMPC-selected programs. Does this current model work? Should the proposal and selection of programs be handled differently? Should the SIS's education chair or other designee serve on the committee? Other suggestions?

Social Events: Attendance at the Closing Banquet has declined and the costs have increased. If the Closing Banquet is eliminated would you attend a Closing Reception, prefer to bring back the Association Luncheon, last held in 2006, prefer a second plenary session with a reception following, or something else? Should the presentation of awards be conducted at any of these events?

Time Conflicts: Do you participate in multiple leadership activities at the Annual Meeting (SIS/Committee/Chapter/Caucus meetings and events)? Do they impact your ability to participate in other Annual Meeting activities? Should committee and SIS meetings be scheduled against programs throughout the Annual Meeting? Should Sunday be set aside for committee and SIS meetings, opening event Sunday evening, and programming Monday to Wednesday?

Here's the survey link. [JH]
