Meet "Johnny and Jennie Westlaw"

Johnny and Jenny Westlaw are "continu[ing] their cross-country trek for WestlawNext." You can view their videos, answer a trivia question and, if you are the lucky weekly winner, get Starbucks gift cards here. Yes, they are really labeled "Johnny and Jenny Westlaw" and I'm sure every Westlaw account rep is cringing at the prospect of hearing "Hi Johnny (or Jenny) Westlaw" as they trek across this great land of ours to pitch "updates."

BTW, why isn't Johnny and Jenny's last name "WestlawNext"? Are they siblings? Married? Do they have a child named "Next"? Is Grandpa Walt still living? Is Johnny's favorite color cobalt? Jenny's orange? Hobbies? Ice carving? Do they have any tats like, oh for example, "11% increase, more or less, for starters"? What's next from these marketing gurus ... Pokémon-inspired cards for trading during "upgrade" negotiations with Johnny Westlaw?

Instead of or in addition to viewing Johnny and Jenny Westlaw videos, you can read this 8-page WestlawNext Quick Reference Guide which offers some brief comparisons between Westlaw and WestlawNext while waiting for Anne Ellis, TR Legal's Senior Director, Librarian (isn't it time to add "marketing" to the name of this downsized program) Relations, to fill in large gaping information holes on Legal Current. The quick reference guide at least makes an attempt at offering some information, unlike the picture-full Legal Research That Speaks the Same Language You Do: Human.

What Was the Name of John B. West's Wife? No Starbucks gift cards from LLB if you know the correct answer. If you don't, the answer can be found in this 24-page biographical sketch, the most informative link to follow in this post. [JH]
