Wikipedia: Traffic Increases While Volunteer Editors Depart

Volunteer Wikipedia editors have been departing faster than new ones have been joining. In the first three months of 2009, Wikipedia suffered a net loss of more than 49,000 editors, compared to a net loss of 4,900 during the same period a year earlier. However Wikipedia remains one of the most popular web destinations with roughly 325 million monthly visitors and the number of visitors grew 20% in the 12 months ending in September.
