Female Athletes Sue to End Gender Discrimination in Ski Jumping at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics
Ski jumping is the last Winter Olympics sport closed to women. So Lindsey Van, holder of the distance record at the ski jumping site for the 2010 games, and nine other women from six countries are suing to remove the ban. They argue that the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games is violating the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms by staging ski jumping competition that excludes women.
