No Halloween Prank, Capital First, Cincinnati Last in Ohio Bar Passage
In a ghoulish quirk of scheduling, Ohio bar exam scores were released on Halloween. Out of 1,093 first time applicants, 88.8 percent received passing scores. Capital University, not a top tier US News school, came in first with a 94 percent pass rate. Cincinnati, a top 60 US News school, came in last. Gone, long gone, are the days when Cincinnati could boast about always having the best bar passage rate in Ohio. Of course, it isn't the law school administration or law profs fault. It never is. I think there is a state law that exempts them from any responsibility for preparing law students to enter the legal profession. Congratulations to all the students who did pass. [JH]
