The Few, The Proud, .... The Librarians?
Apparently the Marine's are looking for a few good librarians based on this USAJobs post. The job lists as being a civilian working for the Navy or Marine Corp in Quantico, VA under the supervision of the Head of the Virtual Branch at the Library of Marine Corps. {bb}

You will note in my vitae that I worked in an U.S. Army Library in Seoul, Korea from 1972 - 1974 while on active duty. There were a number of civilian librarians working in U.S. Army libraries in South Korea. There were at least two civilian librarians working in Air Force libraries as well. The Armed Forces employ civilian librarians all over the world to support the military and civilian employees. Some of the librarians I worked with had served in South Vietnam. It is an interesting career path if you want to spend time in a foreign country with a good U.S. security blanket i.e. commissary and post exchange privileges. I also worked at the library at U.S. Army library at Fort Lewis, Washington in 1971 - 1972 while stationed there. The military libraries are very similar to public libraries with an emphasis on military collections and reading material of interest to young adults. Of course my experience is from about 45 years ago.
